Comfort Inn Marina on the Monterey Bay

This hotel was very convenient, very well maintained and the room was very comfortable. I have discovered that many Comfort Inns have converted the bathrooms to walk in showers and high toilets, which makes it possible to get a room without taking up a true ADA slot. There was a comfortable desk chair and arm chair in the large room.||My only warning is that the light well to the breakfast room opened onto the second floor hallway outside my room, making it very noisy, very early in the morning. It didn't bother me, but if it would bother you, ask the desk clerk to put you somewhere else.

Pros: Hotel clean. Front desk friendly. Easy check in and check out. Room modern, spacious, and clean. ||Cons: Hot breakfast was just average. Only good food were waffles and sausages. Scramble egg tasteless

** DO NOT STAY ** We were at this hotel over the weekend and had NO HOT WATER the entire time. We were informed that this issue was affecting more than just our room, which made the situation even more concerning. After a long day volunteering, not being able to shower was unacceptable. We brought this issue to the attention of the on-site manager and were told there would be follow-up. Unfortunately, we never heard back, and the issue was not resolved at any point during our stay. Access to hot water is a fundamental expectation for hotel guests, and this failure significantly diminished the value of our stay.

Upon check in we were assigned a room. Went to room and it smelled like old food. Went down to desk, requested a room change. it was granted. Move to room 322. Went to room smell fresh, unpacked and opened the refrigerator and there was an opened half gallon of milk inside fridge. I took the milk down to the check-in desk. There was no one attending so I wrote the room number on it stated we found in fridge and left it on the desk. There was no phone call or follow-up. Things that are not in complete control of the Comfort In but were issues: 1. Loud musics playing all night in parkinglot. 2. Babies crying intermittently all night outside. 3. Loud guests/rooms lack sound proofing.

The wife and I spent a night at the Comfort Inn in Marina while on a quick trip to Monterey. The property was just off the freeway, with a Denny’s around the corner, across the street from a Walmart, and less than 2 minutes to the ocean at the end of Reservation Road. Room was large, comfortable, and fairly quiet. We found the beds and pillows to be great to us, and the hot breakfast to have plenty of options to choose from. The price was about average compared to other Comfort Inns we have stayed in this year, and though pricier than some of the motels in Monterey, it was a good place for us.
