Holiday Inn Express & Suites Marina - State Beach Area by IHG

My friend and I stayed here for three nights last week. We asked to have our rooms next to each other and they moved our rooms without any issue. We were on the main floor. We can hear other guests in the hallway. Both of our rooms were clean. The bed was comfortable, a/c worked fine, and the bathroom was spacious. The shower is a bit worn down and I wouldn’t shower without flip flops on, but I do that at every hotel I stay in so nothing out of ordinary for myself. Location was easy to find and get to, beautiful beach up the road. I think it was a tad pricey for how far it is from the touristy things to do but it worked out because we found some local eats that were delicious. The walmart next door was a bonus touch for a snack run before our point lobos hike. Huge props to housekeeping f

I booked this hotel for one night using rewards points I'd earned, so it came at no monetary cost. However, after staying here, I definitely would have paid to stay in this location. I was pleasantly surprised at every turn; not sure why this place only has 3.8 stars. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and breakfast was awesome. Room was very clean and well decorated, and the bathroom was large and modern-feeling. My wife and I only stayed here for one night, but we absolutely would have extended our stay if needed. A great option for a more affordable hotel in this area. The location itself isn't the best (mostly given the proximity to Walmart and other businesses) but the fact that it's so close to the beach totally makes up for it. I would definitely stay here again.

We had a nice stay and they upgraded our room after requesting it which was great. The room was very comfortable and mostly quiet, except for some kids running down the hallway. During our 3-day stay, unfortunately, the following items were not working: elevator, hot tub and juice machine during breakfast. I would recommend this property because of the location and the comfortable rooms but the staff at the front didn't seem very happy to be there. The housekeeping staff, however, were great. Please fix the amenities. A broken elevator does not help those folks who need help with their luggage getting to a room which is 2 flights up.

Sunday breakfast was terrible. Ran out of eggs and coffee Sunday morning at 8:30!|Not good one person working the buffet, could not find a clean counter and sticky floors, trash barrels over flowing. One toaster for everyone. When we did have food it was eggs and 2 kinds of sausage. What about biscuts, bacon needed more selection same thing both days. Customers cleaning thier own tables.

Our tour brought us here and it is a nice hotel near HWY. it is not close to anything though. Room is spacious, clean and toilet is big too. The only thing i don't like the bathroom is the shower, if they can add hand hold shower head, will be good. they have included breakfast and i found not bad at all. Hot food is not much choice but there are many things to eat. there is free coffee and tea table. very nice !
