Hampton Inn & Suites Marina

This hotel worked well for our stay, the only disappointment was the lack of working heated pool; given this was a reason we booked this hotel, having an email less than a week before arriving saying it was out of action and not being able to find out what was happening despite trying Hilton customer service was frustrating. ||It was well located (we chose to stay here rather than Monterey) with a gorgeous beach close by and Walmart being across the street was handy too.

Pros - location really nice, nice breakfast and rooms are spacious. But apart from these 3, everything else is negative. Check my video below, continuous water leakage and dropping from the ceiling in the breakfast area, I almost slipped. Plus pool heater was not working, basically making it unusable and some of the equipment in the gym were also dysfunctional. Front desk ladies were also not cordial and friendly, need better training if they want to stay in the customer facing roles. Overall not a great stay except few plusses mentioned in the 1st sentence.

For our 3 nigth stay, we booked a room suite with a king size bed, a sofa bed, a fridge, a microwave and a sink. Comfy bed. The room is spacious. The bathroom is very good. Breakfast is included. They have waffle you can make yourself, eggs, bacon, pancakes, cereals... There is a 10 dollars fee per night for the parking. Convenient to have Walmart across the street. And 2 min drive, you can enjoy the beautiful Marina State Beach (free). Also restaurants options few minutes drive in Marina.

Positive: Exceptional cleanliness - my room and overall property. Negative: Yes, a very minor detail: The complimentary breakfast was wonderful, except I like my oatmeal thick (not watery). The hotel coook makes the oatmeal way too thin (different than other Hampton Inns).

It’s really hard to find a good hotel that’s renovated close to attractions! This hotel worked out to be excellent. Pros Location Renovated Clean Service and room clean daily Cons No indoor pool - heater broken they said Ok buffet - omelette not available without cheese , no egg whites Not sure about some of the negative reviews here, we enjoyed our stay. Pools can always have malfunctions, please call ahead to check.
