Mission Inn

Even though the place is under renovation, our room was perfect! We had arrived early as my wife had gotten sick on the trip down and the young lady at the desk was very accommodating. Our room was well done, clean and updated. Definitely worth a second stay.

Positive: Room had been renovated since our last stay. It was really nice. Negative: If on second floor a bit difficult to bring up luggage.

Was ok, little difficult hauling all of our things up & down the stairs.

The Mission Inn was the perfect stop for my riding partner and me as we made our way south on California 101. Our room was spotless — you could tell the recent remodel was done with real pride of ownership. We were able to park our motorcycles right in view of our room, which gave us peace of mind knowing the bikes were safe and secure. Check-in was handled by a very friendly young lady who even tipped us off that calling the motel directly next time could get us a better rate than booking online. The location is ideal — close to 101 but blissfully quiet — and just a short walk to Higuera Street for dinner and a couple of beers. We had a very comfortable night and slept like a rock! Strictly OK hotel with rooms smelling the new painting work that they are doing. This hotel robbed me by charging service fee out of nowhere when they didn’t provide me any extra service. The bathroom did not lock well and this was a big issue for us. I called in to the travel website I booked through and they said we can’t do anything as the hotel charged it. Rooms weren’t anything great. So BEWARE! Even if you are paying less, know what you are getting into. They will charge you for $40 as their service charge when you book a room worth $150. That’s 25% extra you will unnecessarily pay!!
