Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Middletown

I am a Platinum Wyndham member and have always stayed at Microtel when in the Middletown, NY area in the past. I will no longer stay there. First of all, this is a non smoking building. They force cigarette smokers to go across the street to smoke. I think the smoke alarms in the rooms must be broken because the stench of pot smoke was so strong morning, noon, and night on the 2nd floor. It seeped into my room. I don't begrudge anyone but it shouldn't intrude on my tranquility either. The carpets are coming up from the floor in the hallways and are bunched. If you're not careful, you will have a nasty fall. Inside the double queen room were the most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept on. I woke up every morning with an aching back. The pillows were like soft rocks in a pillow case. There i

Positive: Lights work and had running water. Negative: Smoker fragrance, no tub, breakfast was terrible and didn't touch anything because it isn't breakfast. Not at all. Beds had a saggy area on one bed. No lobby computer or printer to use.

My family and I were looking for a place to stay close to Legoland. Santiago, the GM at Microtel Inn & Suites – Middletown, provided exceptional customer service — very clear, thorough, and accommodating. He took the time to understand our situation and helped us make the best decision for our stay. It’s rare to find someone so professional and genuinely helpful. He truly went above and beyond, and I highly recommend this location for that reason!||The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, is that the room itself could use some updates. Although it wasn’t completely outdated, there was a noticeable smell of cigarette smoke even though we were on a non-smoking floor (possibly coming through the vents). The moment we stepped inside, the entire hotel hit us with the stench of Fabuloso and bleach so strong it could’ve stripped paint off the walls.
