Meadowlark Motel

Great little bar with live music. We had a blast on a Saturday night at the downstairs bar (you go in via a back/bottom entrance. The bar service was excellent and the live music was really nice. We asked for a food menu and they had food from the dinner service upstairs. This is a hidden gem and if you are looking to do something in the evening when the Meadowlark has live music, you should check it out. I highly recommend this bar.

BEWARE AND STAY AWAY!!! This place is absolutely terrible. We came to Maggie Valley for a weekend getaway and had this trip planned for 5 months. I booked this motel because of their website and all the amenities. However within minutes of checking in, we were horribly disappointed. We had room 107 and upon entering the room the smell of cigarettes, body odor and mold was overwhelming. The bathroom ceramic tile floor had no transom from the bedroom and with the ceramic tile higher than the bedroom floor it's easy to slice your toes on the raw cut edges of the tile. The towel rack in the bathroom under the light switch was broken off and only one side of the bracket was attached which could cause a possible injury. We chose to (try to) stay here because the reviews said it was biker friendly. Who knows, it may have been had we been able to find anyone to talk to. The whole place was wide open. We walked around inside and all over outside. Probably there for a half hour or more. Called 6 different numbers posted on the door. One of which did have a working voice mail, one just rang, and the others said their inboxes were full. None of the numbers rang the phone at the desk ? We spoke with a lady while we were walking around. Appeared she was the only guest there... She said she'd not seen anyone around since she'd got there. Would love to rate this place higher but the room they put us in left a lot to be desired. We booked through Expedia for a king room lower level. Motel booking put us in a double queen upper level, 17 step outside staircase. Room was very musty. Opened windows but screens did not seal allowing bugs in. Bathtub had solidified liquid soap by faucet. Shower soap dispensers had no soap. Hairdryer worked but had a sharp screw attached to it from when it used to hang on the wall. Blackout curtain worked but was missing rod hooks and rod was covered with spiderwebs. Ceiling light panel over sink is filthy and pieces are broken out of it.
