Mayflower Hotel

We got an incredible rate for 3 nights here. -Waffles were awesome at the continental breakfast, coffee was great black and didn't need sugar. -Super easy to walk around the hop on a bus. -Elevator was really cool. -Room was way bigger than I was expecting. There was a walk-in closet. The window blinds were beautiful, and the windows opening was awesome. Hotel beds are never great so there isn't anything worth comparing to. We had a rear facing corner room and it was perfect. -I took a bath in the giant tub every night. The water was hot and didn't dry me out the way CA municipal water does. -Only thing I didn't love is the Wi-Fi router in the room was very bright and illuminated the room with the lights off. Stayed here for one night and I booked the deluxe room. It had very comfortable and warm beds, clean, no bugs with a great view of the city. Relatively safe area within walking distance to the Warfield. It's a very old building so it's not going to have modern features, charming and antique. Some issues include the toilet seems to not refill with water so I would have to refill it myself to flush. Plus there's not many outlets to charge devices. There also isn't any parking and had to pay $80 to park in a garage near by. If I didn't have to worry about parking I would definitely stay here again.

Our second time staying at this antique hotel in the Nob Hill district. Short walking distance to restaurants, Union Square, Chinatown. We were in 606, spacious, bright, comfortable bed, clean. Unique metal gated lift with a double door, just like the movies. Under ground parking is free but vehicle must not be wider than 72", but sure beats paying $50 +USD/day at nearby parking lot. Staff, (Mike) was courteous. Offered free adequate cold breakfast, with a machine to make waffles. Sitting areas on main floor and second floor. There is no safe in the rooms. Room cleaning only if you request it. Otherwise, a great hotel for the price. Would book again with them.

Great service from Mike and another lady receptionist! They recommended the good places to eat and how to take cable car. The hotel, including eleavator, is antique, but the room is renovated with good condition. Beware when walking nearby hotel alone at night. Love location that is 5 minutes walk to cable car station and offered free compact car parking!

Pluses:|Excellent location, nice staff, affordable, pretty lobby, the elevators are quick, generally clean, mostly quiet (a little street noise), it's near Trader Joes, lots of closets.|Minuses:|Refrigerator couldn't be plugged in without completely moving it... basically unusable, no coffee maker, the clock and microwave were also unplugged, breakfast is pretty mediocre, tv is blaring during breakfast. |SF is an expensive city. The Mayflower is nothing special but it's old school and affordable and if you're not fussy or expecting more for your money the Mayflower is a good option.
