We actually own a lot and we are near the front gate. People coming in in and out of the park have their music blaring and the boom boxes are disgusting along with filthy music you can hear for blocks. Stop 🛑 signs are non-existent it so seems. Park patrol doesn't follow their own rules. One plays their kind of music day and night and you can hear it for several blocks. That's Park patrol fo you. Young kids driving golf carts and no one obeys speed limits. Do these 7, 8, 9 & 10 year old kids even have insurance,? No one should be allowed to drive these golf carts without a valid driver's license. No exceptions. Lots around us have mildew all over their trailer, grass and weeds a foot long, animals living under their trailer, most trailers have insuffent human waist piped. All sewer pipes mu

We had cabin reserved for the weekend of October 10, 2025. Upon getting to the resort, there was no one in the rangers office at 5:00 pm to check us in and give us keys to our cabin. Security was very helpful in contacting someone and getting our key and parking pass for us. Upon entering the cabin, we walked into cobwebs that were hanging low enough to hit us in the face. The worst was a pair of underwear left over from a previous stay lying on the bathroom floor. We decided to leave within the hour due to concerns over sanitation and cleanliness. Since leaving, I have tried multiple times to contact the campground to privately resolve this matter. Reservations, manager office and operator do not answer any calls or return calls despite leaving contact information several times. I

The cabins are tiny, which we knew but the beds (if you want to call them that) are tiny, very thin pads that sit on wood that you can feel. I'm a very fit athlete so it's not like I weighed the pad down. It was like sleeping on a rocky ground. Service was a roller coaster... I called days in advance to make sure we had a cabin and that I'd be able to get in after 10pm due to it being a 4hr drive after work (I was traveling for work). They assured me we would be able to get in and someone is available 24/7. We pull in at 10 and we're told there was no key left for us and the ranger station is locked and something happened to our cabin so we couldn't be in the one I picked either. The lady at the gate was very kind and went above and beyond by making phone calls and getting someone to the r

Nice, quiet place to pitch a tent or camper. Family friendly with many activities for the yutes. 😁 Other higher end campgrounds out there for way more but kinda unnecessary. Good value, good fun.

Great location for visiting Chicago was the basic reason we stayed here. Our site was fine although it was mentioned slightly negatively in another review. Speaking of other reviews, ya, most of them are pretty accurate. This place is probably more "low-income housing" than "resort" for sure. We're medium to low income kind of people ourselves so we weren't as bothered as some people might be staying here. We had a good experience, did some laundry and had a bit of trouble but ended up being handled equitably enough. If you want to visit Chicago with an RV, this is the only place within an hour long drive. It was worth it for us and we would do it again. Just don't plan on it being the "resort" it advertises itself as!
