Inn At San Luis Obispo

We had to cancel our trip because one member of our group became seriously ill with flu/COVID-like symptoms very unexpectedly. We contacted both the hotel and Booking.com immediately to explain the situation and asked whether any flexibility could be offered given the health circumstances. Unfortunately, the hotel owner showed no understanding or willingness to help at all. The communication felt cold and unsympathetic, and no alternatives or accommodations were offered. While I understand that hotels have cancellation policies, the complete lack of compassion in a genuine medical situation was disappointing. Customer service and attitude matter just as much as facilities, and this experience left a very negative impression. ---------------- I want to add something even worse afterwards

Great hotel! Close to college and downtown, comfy beds, great continental breakfast buffet, amazing views from rooftop pool and spa but the pool not open early enough (10am) so we weren’t able to use it. The posted hours were 9am-10pm but the front desk handout said 10am-10pm and the card key would not allow access at 9am. Most hotels give you 7 or 8am access which would be ideal.

This hotel should be shut down I made a reservation for this weekend ( march6-9) was confirmed and I got a discount through booking.com I was super excited I got into town and looked at my email and they had sent me a cancellation HOURS after confirming saying their was a computer glitch with the price, so I called explained the situation very nice and seeing what we can do to work this out, the guy was incredibly aggressive and rude I asked him hey sir I’m just trying to sort this out I’m in town and have no where to sleep, he could care less he said it’s canceled and there’s nothing he can do that I need to go in and rebook and I asked him due to the issue can I get a discount or something to apologize for this inconvenience he called me stupid and told me to shut up. Positive: Good location, reasonable price Negative: The room itself was fine, except that it stank (!) with an overwhelming smell of cat urine! Literally couldn’t breathe without feeling you were in a cat box. And the minimal a/c-fan could do nothing to bring in fresh air.

We stayed here 11/22/25. The Manager put us in the room above the office 200 or 201 can't be exact. It was disgusting and dilapidated everything from the floor to ceiling was falling apart and it smelled of Urine so bad. The refrigerator was unplugged and warm and he had to come up and fix it. The only positive was that the bed linens appeared to be clean. Towels were stained and worn out. The worst stay we have had in SLO avoid!
