Hyatt Place Milford / New Haven

We stayed at the Hyatt Place in Milford/New Haven while in town for a track event at Yale. From the moment we arrived, the entrance was clean, modern, and welcoming. The staff throughout the stay were extremely friendly and personable. Jerrell, who checked us in also happened to be the same person serving drinks at the little bar later that evening, and he did a great job in both roles, which really added a personal touch to the experience. The room itself was clean, though it did show a bit of wear and tear. My only real disappointment was being charged extra for a fifth-floor “view,” which turned out to be a view of the parking lot and highway, something that didn’t feel worth the additional cost. We stayed here twice this year. 2 nights in April and 2 in Nov. The stay in April was far superior to 2 main reasons. One the sizable hot tub was enjoyable and two, we had a room facing the back of the hotel. On our second stay, we were so disappointed to find the hot tub permanently closed! It’s a good thing I checked before we changed into swimsuits. The bigger problem was the front facing room. For some strange reasons they had a bright light shining up on our window the whole night and since the blinds weren’t black out, it made for very poor quality sleep. For the price, this is a solid stay, especially when you considering the free breakfast. I still give it a 4 stars since the lady at the front desk was super sweet. The Hyatt is a decent place with good potential. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, and the breakfast is enjoyable. Its convenient location provides easy access to nearby malls and restaurants. However, the staff could be more attentive and welcoming, as the service felt somewhat lacking in warmth. Housekeeping mostly covers dustbin emptying, towel changes, and bed-making, with floors and tabletops not being cleaned daily. The hotel also features a gym with basic equipment. Overall, with improvements in staff service and cleanliness, this hotel could become a truly pleasant place to stay.

The staff was fantastic! Very friendly. Rooms were very nice. My only issue is that the walls are fairly certain thin and was kept up most the night by a belligerent neighbor who kept me up almost all night. That wasn't really the hotel's problem so I still give them 5 stars

The hotel is fine I paid $50 for a 9 am checkin and wasnt allowed to checkin until 11:20. There were several rates for early checkin. I needed the 9 am so thought it was worth the money. Given that we werent allowed to checkin we had to make alternate arrangements. I was still charged $50 and cannot get anyone to assist me with getting the charged reversed.
