We were looking for one night stay after a Saturday evening performance at the Black Friars. Hotel 24 South was only taking two night stays - so we booked this property. ||It wasn't fancy. It was clean. It was within walking distance of downtown. It was quiet. Parking right in front of the hotel in a spacious lot. The room was a third of a night at Hotel 24 South.

Was in room 409 and The room was filthy. The bathroom was disgusting. There was stuff all over the walls. Hair in the shower doesn’t look like nobody took a broom or anything to the room.. Went and got my own clean supplies and cleaned it myself.

Positive: The staff was friendly. Negative: The breakfast was below average. Poor select and coffee was poor. The pool was old.

Rooms are clean, cheap atmosphere but ya get what ya pay for. However when I came back to my room I noticed from the parking lot it looked like our door was open, and we got upstairs and it was open. I noticed new towels and washcloths and the trash taken out so I figured housekeeping came and put new stuff in. But I do not feel safe here anymore because they did not close the door after they left!! I came back and about had a heart attack thinking my stuff got stolen. Totally ruined the entire stay.

The hostess on duty, around 8 pm, last night was very nice. After that our stay went down hill. The room had not been used, or cleaned in some time, as evidenced by heavy dust, bugs a dirty commode and vanity. I used one of the washcloths to wipe things down. Repairs to the tub included fiberglass that was peeling, actual wall paint used to cover the drain and immediate area. As well a "patch" that was made by using a plastic disk that is normally used to patch a wall damaged by a door knob. We didn't use it. The bathroom door had not been cleaned in some time judging form drink splatters and dirt not to mention a full length mirror that was filthy. The 4 bed pillows were all half the size of regular ones. No mini frig or microwave. And this morning I wanted coffee and had to scrub the pot
