Rooms are basic but spacious. Staff at breakfast think they're herding cattle. You get a bottle of warm water on check in. Asked for another on checkout, having spent $410 for 2 nights. Told to forget about it. No way. There's hundreds of bottles back there but I'm checked out so I can take a hike. Definitely won't be back.
Overall a clean and comfortable hotel but could use some updating in the rooms and on the guest floors. The location is very good for Fisherman's wharf but about 20-30 mins by car to the financial/business district. For the price paid and based on the website pictures I expected more.
I set up this reservation through Travelocity. My wife and I could not be more pleased with our experience. We arrived at 1am in the morning exhausted after being up for well over 24hrs but was greeted by the most kind and sweet agent. She ensured we got checked in smoothly and understood all the services and polices. The room was comfortable, clean and very spacious. Although there wasn't a whole lot of counter space in the bathroom (this is my ONLY complaint) but we made it work. Breakfast is absolutely AMAZING with just about everything for every taste. The location is outstanding. Now, people need to understand that parking is an issue in SF and you will pay. This hotel offers a wonderful underground garage (you cannot have a tall SUV/Vehicle due to height restrictions) for a
Positive: The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The location was excellent to get around town. The breakfast was outstanding. Negative: Our room location was not the best. A first floor room that was dark. The bathroom was very small.
The owners have done a decent job of keeping this older hotel updated, but it still needs some work. At the top of the list is the mattresses. I could feel all the inner springs. Next is the door to the bathroom. It opens right I to the toilet and tub and leaves no room at all to maneuver. Last are the faucets. Hardly any water flownat all. Granted, it is California, but still. Of note for our particular room, 2515, it is on the 2nd floor right above the garbage bins. Every morning at 3:00 a.m. the trash truck would come to empty the garbage bins. It felt and sounded like the hotel was going to collapse. Woke us up every single night. Do yourself a big favor and avoid this room at all costs. In fairness, other rooms won't have this issue. Now, for the positive. The hot breakfast buffet eve
