Hotel Indigo Detroit North - Troy by IHG

Just spent 3 miserable days at this hotel with my family for a hockey tournament.|First impression of our 2 queen room was good which had been fully renovated.|However, no internet connection and the TV did not work even after maintenance tried to fix.|When tried to use the shower, the drain was not functioning and almost overflowed into the bathroom. |This was around 10 pm and informed that maintenance had left for the night.|Asked to change rooms, but no 2 Queen rooms were available.|The front desk clerk was very accommodating and were given 2 king rooms.|Everything seemed good, until construction started right below our rooms at 7 am!|This was Friday. I asked the front desk staff if the construction was going to be over the weekend as well. They had no idea.|Sure enough, it started

I really would’ve liked to give this hotel a better rating, but I can’t overlook the issues that I had while there. I came to celebrate my birthday with a few friends/family and booked two rooms for 2 nights, since I knew there would be about 8 of us although only 3 stayed the night. As my guests were arriving, they were constantly harassed about if they were spending the night or just visiting, and my sister’s bag was even checked as they said that we could not have a party there and they were looking for decorations, maybe? They even called the room to ask me how many people were there And just another few prying questions. The rooms also have no microwave nor is there one in the hotel that you can use. The mini fridge is a nice size though. On the second Day I requested Towels around 9

We have stayed at this establishment a couple times while they were under construction. Even during the upgrades the service was amazing. We live an hour away and i had 4 doctors appointments in this area so we decided to check indigo out now that construction is complete. We were definitely not disappointed! From the time we walked in we were greeted with a smile and hospitality I wish i was better at remembering names,however, everyone we encountered was friendly, professional and just so sweet. Now,let's get to the amenities. The rooms are very clean and beautifully done. The pool is very clean and does not smell of chlorine at all. Checked in last night on NY eve, the guy and lady at the front desk were so sweet! The guy even helped us bring extra towels up to the room because our hands were full; so sad that I didn't catch his name! And this morning, Sandy and Sherry were so sweet as I was checking out for the day. They were very welcoming and nice! I'd totally recommend this hotel. The hospitality was wonderful and the room was clean and updated. They also had really cute decor in celebration of the season. I'd totally come back here and I'd recommend others to stay, as well.
