Hotel Ikon

BED BUGS!! I stayed here February 12-14 with my friend and we are both covered in bites. I called the hotel and it seemed like they were quick to dismiss me, didn’t even apologize. I asked for a refund for our stay he told me to email the manager Megan and I would hear back from them that day. It’s been three and no response with the email or voicemail I left. I just wanted to warn other travelers about this place because this is not fun to deal with and freak out over the fact of potentially taking it home with you. Update: They finally reached back out to me and issued my full refund for the stay and have apologized.

What did you like about the property?I appreciated how they were able to preserve the charm of the property. I also truly appreciated how hospitable, thoughtful, and kind the General Manager, Megan, was toward me. Her attitude and genuine concern for guests made a big difference during my stay.Despite the property being old, Megan’s professionalism and kindness made me overlook many of its limitations. When I checked in, she was very polite and friendly, and she always considered the welfare of guests.Because the card reader for my security deposit wasn’t working (despite 4–6 attempts to reboot it), Megan told me not to worry and allowed me to rest first in my room. Someone sent me the address of this hotel and told me they had rooms available for monthly rent, but the receptionist there that night was rude. When I arrived, he told me to wait outside and call the person who had directed me. The person who works at reception should be kind, friendly, and have good manners.

I loved it! Being able to open a window was awesome! All the bedding was so comfy and smelled good. Great location too. I look forward to going back.

Perfect location and price. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean room with everything I needed. Highly recommend Hotel Ikon if you are looking for an affordable place to stay in downtown San Francisco.
