Hotel G

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel G for the first time for a wedding weekend, and we had a great experience. The location is excellent, within walking distance to a lot of places, with a really good diner right across the street. It’s also close to many stores and BART, which made getting around easy. I felt very safe during our stay, and it wasn’t too loud at all.||I especially want to give a shout out to Irene at the front desk. She helped us tremendously. We initially asked if we could leave our bags at the front, but she went above and beyond by looking for an available room so we could check in early. She clearly knows the hotel inside and out when she was explaining to us all the amenties and everything about the hotel. When we noticed our room had been missed for cleaning one day a

Well located, friendly staff who gave us a free upgrade to the room as we were returning guests. They give a carton of free water when checking in but if you request for more its $6 per carton. Overall gold stay!

We had a fantastic stay and would stay again based on location, room size, and pricing alone. Thanks to the clear room type descriptions on their website, we selected a "greatest king" room to suit our needs. Reservations portal was seamless and there were many special rates and sales listed right on their website. Check in was pleasant and easy, and you can tell they've done what they could with a very old building to modernize and stylize. The only con: running the parking pass back was a bit clunky, and the Westin parking attendants definitely change their tone when you tell them you're at Hotel G, he literally dropped his smile and told us to hurry up. I have stayed here a few times, the rooms are comfortable and big and it's very reasonably priced, however it isn't perfect and that can best be summarized by the fact that my room didn't have any bath towels, I went to the front desk to tell them this, and they basically told me that I was wrong because the rooms are always inspected before I checked in. Well there weren't any towels, I wasn't wrong. Not a great way to approach customer service.

It's always easier to plan a trip in reverse- like we should have stayed there or eaten there or whatever- but I would stay in this hotel over and over again. The location is ideal for getting around the city. We were able to get everywhere we wanted to go using our feet and cable car. So much fun! Room is clean and dark for sleeping and comfortable. We will stay here again on our next visit to SF.
