Homewood Suites by Hilton Ft.Lauderdale Airport-Cruise Port

This was THE worst hotel experience I've ever had. In 60 years. The hallway carpets are disgusting. The desk employees don't answer the phone unless you psycho-call. When they do answer (4th or 5th time trying), they give you the wrong information (on purpose?). I did figure out why she wouldn't answer the phone when I finally got there after waiting over an hour for an airport shuttle. She was on the phone (personal phone call ON HER CELL) the entire time I was downstairs waiting on food that I ordered. It was over an hour. She was horrible. She didn't care. I purchased an orange juice and she told me she couldn't print a receipt. I asked why, she said it would print every receipt for the entire day. I wonder if she knew how crazy that sounded... Stayed here one night between flights. Check-in was fast and efficient, and the staff were friendly. The room was clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well. WiFi was reliable, although I was a bit annoyed that I had to sign up for Hilton Rewards just to connect.||The room had a flat-screen television with local channels and Netflix capability. The hotel is very close to the airport (about an 8-minute drive) and conveniently located near the Tri-Rail, which is just a short walk away and provides easy access into Miami.||Furniture is a bit dated and stained, but it wasn’t a setback.||The bathroom was stocked with high-quality, full-size Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion), which was a nice touch. Positive: Location was good Negative: This hotel desperately needs to upgrade their furniture in the rooms. Ours rooms furniture had tears and stains. Pretty banged up. It made me think what else wasn't being taken care of.

A day of suffrage. Not only was I delayed by Spirit airline from 3 pm to 11 pm when I finally reached my layover in Fort Lauderdale, I was delayed at the hotel. Spirit offered me a hotel and meal due to my delayed and lost of my original connecting flight to Ft Lauderdale with final destination to Tampa. I called and confirmed with a woman at 6:29 pm that this hotel had a room available and that the shuttle works 24/7. I was told to call back once I landed at 12:55 am to receive details on how to locate airport pickup/ hotel shuttle. The young man who answered the call (hung up or went silent) so, I called back and he express that it will be 20 - 30 minutes before I can be picked up. Mind you, the hotel is 2 miles away. I am extremely disappointed at the shuttle. I picked this hotel since they claim they provide 24hr shuttle. My flight arrive at 1am, I called and waited at their designated location for more than 40 min,. No shuttle at all. I end up taking a uber myself. The hotel simply stop answering my calls after my second call about when the shuttle is coming. Very rude and irresponsible. If you don’t provide shuttle just say it on the website. Or if the shuttle is more than one hour wait after a certain time just be clear about it. I even text the hotel about my flight 4 hours ahead to let them know about my late arrival fight.
