Homewood Suites by Hilton Ann Arbor

New property. Nicely designed rooms. Staff were all pleasant especially the front desk. The breakfast was a step above other Hilton properties that offer free breakfast. Such as smoked pulled chicken and tortillas for breakfast. Nice touch. The reason for the 4 stars was that upon arrival the room was not cleaned as expected. Food had been splashed on the wall above the couch and remnants of it remained. There were several hairs on bathroom floor and beard hair around the faucets. Not acceptable. If all other aspects of the hotel were not as good as they were the rating would be a 3. Nice location to sporting facilities and about a mile from campus area.

So, gotta say, I actually don't dislike the room or the hotel...BUT...this is the first hotel I've ever stayed at that doesn't put clocks in the room. Also, although the hotel has ice machines on every floor, there are not ice buckets in the rooms. FYI, the ice maker in the fridge doesn't work. Yes, I did go to the front desk and ask about these. For ice, I was told I can use "the Tupperware " to get my ice. As for a clock, "we have telephones" in our rooms. Granted, these things aren't horrible, but I've never experienced this in any hotel I've ever stayed in. Especially, a longer stay hotel.

We stayed here for one night (4th floor) to go to a basketball game at the Crisler Center. It was about a 20 minute walk along well-lighted streets.||Our room was spacious and well laid out. We couldn’t figure out how to turn off the ice maker (the lever seemed to be missing?), and the shower could get a bit messy if the doors weren’t closed correctly. ||The breakfast was your standard fare; we liked that underground parking was available. If we return to Ann Arbor, we will be back!

The rooms in this hotel are absolutely gorgeous! It was almost like staying in a small apartment. I didn't want to leave! The staff was also pretty fantastic as well, and they have a good breakfast. Would definitely stay again.
