Home2 Suites by Hilton Smithfield Selma

Stopped at this location on our way back to Georgia to drop off our daughter back at college after winter break. Usually we stay at the Hampton Inn next door, but they didn't have any availability so we were referred (by the Hampton Inn) to book here. First off, it's a beautiful new hotel; the staff is very nice and helpful. What I loved about this hotel was the fact that you cannot use the elevators (to go upstairs) unless you have a valid room key (nice security feature I've encountered at other hotels). Upon getting to our room (which was nice....king sized bed and pull out couch), we noticed a ladybug on our wall. Within 10 minutes of being in the room an additonal 7-8 came out of nowhere....it was wild. My husband requested a room change, which we received with no issue. The second ro

This Home2 Suites is brand-new and very clean, which made for a comfortable stay. The rooms were modern, well-designed, and had plenty of space for our family. However, we were disappointed that the hotel doesn’t have a pool, especially since that’s something we typically look for when traveling. Breakfast was just okay - the bacon seemed like the kind you heat in the microwave and the coffee tasted like they added a little coffee to a pot full of water. Staff was friendly and the location was convenient, so overall still a solid stay. Just a few improvements on amenities and breakfast could easily make this a 5-star experience.

I stayed here on 5–6 Dec during a military move and chose Hilton because I always trust the brand. Check-in was smooth, but the room had a few cleanliness issues—several hairs in the shower area and a large hairball near the dining table. As a Diamond member, I normally experience higher consistency at Home2 properties. Staff was polite and the stay was otherwise fine, but the room should have been inspected more thoroughly before arrival. Hoping this helps improve quality control for future guests. I sent an email via the Hilton "Stay Feedback" tool to seek resolution.

As a reward member, I had tried to get a room at Hampton Inn, they were booked and directed me to Home2 as a sister hotel. The young lady at check in (Toya) was so nice and professional and very helpful. Check in was easy and quick and they answered all my questions. Room was super clean and comfortable. Above all, as a lone traveler I felt safe here. The gentleman at check in (didn't get his name) was so kind and patient with all my concerns. He checked out a safety concern I had in my room. Definitely keeping this on my list when passing through from NJ to Florida. Highly recommend! Thank you Home2.
