Holiday Inn Winchester SE-Historic Gateway by IHG

My wife and I booked a room at this hotel Saturday, January 24th for my son's birthday. We're local, but he loves staying in hotels and swimming in their pools. Prior to checking in, we called a couple times to make sure the pool was available and to request connecting rooms and everyone was great. When we checked in, we were greeted by Tina who was about as friendly as anyone could be. We met another Tina who told us to come down to the restaurant before we swim and she suprised my son with a chocolate muffin with a candle for his birthday and sang him happy birthday with other staff. Just wanted take this time to appreciate how amazing these ladies were and give them the credit they deserve. Rooms were great and pool was clean as well!

Interesting mismatched expectations Sought out a hotel close to interstate for the evening on a long drive. At $164, it was not the cheapest. Room clean, but AC unit rattled loudly due to poor maintenance. Light in bathroom surrounding mirror were not funtional. Breakfast was served as a sitdown service with a voucher system. Two waitresses served all the tables for completely full dining room. It took couldn't seat, take custom orders, serve coffee, serve food, buss tables and maybe even help cook. Clearly, it was not enough staff for that many people. 15 minutes to order. Took another 25 minutes to get food. It was just under 1 hour total w. Food was good, freshly prepared but barely warm by the time it arrived. We wouldn't be disappointed if traveling and needing to kill time in morni

I made a reservation through American Airlines and received a confirmation number. When I arrived to check-in, I was total the reservation was cancelled even though it still showed active on my American Airlines app and that I did not cancel the reservation. The Holiday Inn Front Dest Agent offered no explanation, apology, or any assistance in finding alternative lodging. I then contacted American Airlines. American Airlines confirmed that the reservation still showed active on its system. The American Airlines representative contacted this Holiday Inn and was informed that the hotel cancelled my reservation unilaterally due to high demand. No attempts were made to notify me or American Airlines that the Holiday Inn was cancelling my reservation. I had to scramble to find lodging

I made my reservation using the Holiday Inn App and check-in was very quick and easy. I was greeted by two very friendly and professional front desk employees who immediately recognized me as a gold rewards member. They made me immediately feel welcome and in no time at all I was in my spacious and very clean room. My room was very well attended, the bed well-made and very comfortable. The Wi-Fi was strong, dependable and worked well throughout my entire stay. I received a breakfast slip at check-in which entitled me to a complimentary made to order breakfast. The breakfast attendants were great. They were attentive to the needs of their guests and went out of their way to ensure that we were well taken care of. We stay at the historic winchester holiday inn every couple months and are never disappointed. The staff are amazing and the hotel itself is very nice. Their pet fees are very fair and they warmly welcome our fur babies. The rooms are laid out well and bed is comfortable. Breakfasts exceed expectations and restaurant staff is wonderful. We will continue to stay here every time we pass through winchester! Thanks for another great stay :)
