Holiday Inn Express & Suites Mountain View Silicon Valley, an IHG Hotel

The room wasn’t bad but we did come into a room with ac off, phone unplugged and missing a shower curtain. No pool was available at this location which we knew ahead of time. The staff was friendly and responded quickly. Continental breakfast aligns with Holiday Inn Breakfast which is good. I would have rates 5 stars but with the condition of room on first impression it gets 4 stars. Rooms were spotless.

First I reserved 2 rooms, 1 king and 2 queen. They gave me two kings because they ran out of queen rooms( we are a family of 4 for one king room). Then, when we went to leave with all of our luggage and children, the elevators when out of order. We had to carry all luggage and two kids down stairs. Once we got to the bottom of the stairs, our keys would not open the doors to let us out. We were stuck! All of our keys were deactivated hours early. Finally, housekeeping heard us yelling and let us out. All we got was a sorry, they had no explanation for anything. Luckily, this was not an emergency. If this was a fire or earthquake, this could have ended badly. We will never again stay here.

We got a spacious and quiet room away from the freeway. Breakfast was great and staff were all friendly and helpful. It was truly a nice experience.

The hotel is right next to the 101 freeway, so the noise can be quite loud. No parking is available in the front; parking is only located at the back and underground. Please note that the elevator is not working, and there is only one elevator available. If you are staying on the second floor and parked underground, you will need to carry all your luggage up to the second floor by yourself. On a positive note, the room is clean and comfortable. Just a tip: make sure to check the power outlet for the TV. During my stay, someone had unplugged the TV, and I had to plug it back in to watch.

Low price and clean hotel, first impressions were positive. But I stayed here three nights and two of the nights the fire alarm malfunctioned and woke everyone up at 630 am. It kept blaring intermittently for 30 or so minutes each time. Painfully LOUD. Also the elevator didn't work and the air from the AC had a musty smell. Will stay elsewhere next trip. Bummer this place isn't better, as the location is great!
