My family (husband and one grown son) stayed in a two-queen suite for two nights on a recent Spring Break trip to the DC area. Since we're school teachers, we wanted to see some of the area's sites for a few days and wanted to be near a Metro station but get a good price for a room. This very nice Holiday Inn Express (it looks brand new) fit the bill entirely. The location was a short drive from the Vienna Metro station and was near the highway but very quiet (no road noise at all in the room). Even though I booked through a third party site, I was treated very well by the sweet young lady at the front desk. Check in was super fast, I felt no discomfort or discrimination. After we checked it, there was nothing but quiet privacy. My kids may have been the loudest things in the building. I tried my best to keep them quiet but you know kids. Still we were not bothered or made to leave. I will be staying here again shortly. Thank you for a pleasant stay!

I recently booked a room at this Holiday Inn using my IHG Friends & Family employee discount for a close friend. Unfortunately, when my friend arrived, the front desk refused to honor the booking, stating they couldn’t release the room despite the valid reservation and confirmation. The experience was frustrating and embarrassing—especially considering this program is meant to reflect the trust and reliability of the IHG brand. What’s worse, the front desk offered no clear explanation or assistance to resolve the situation, leaving my friend stranded late in the night. Jan 1-3 I called ahead and emailed to ensure the pool was usable and was told it was. My issue isn’t that it wasn’t fixed over a holiday, it is that I called and was told it was working and then I paid more for this hotel than for another and to top it off, I wasn’t notified of this issue until I arrived. Apologies don’t cut it when you plan ahead and make sure. I booked this hotel because it had a pool and a hot tub and I paid extra so that my pregnant daughter could join me. My pregnant daughter and my grandson who was turning seven were looking forward to the pool. When I got there, there was a sign up saying that the pool in the hot tub heater was broken.
