Holiday Inn Des Moines-Airport/Conf Center by IHG

My family and I decided to go to this hotel for their New Year’s Eve event. We had teenagers and we were looking for something to them to do that did not involve alcohol. The hotel offered a New Year’s Eve package, which included a room for six, Swimming, DJ, Balloon drop, Party favors , and breakfast. Now we have stayed in this hotel before Covid and they’ve had formal dinners and events. And I’m not complaining about the event itself. I just am a little bit disappointed in the response of the staff when I ask questions about this event so I gotta understanding of what I was paying for. Lori and the rest of the staff were extremely kind and helpful. The location next to the airport is so convenient. The room was clean, the shower was nice, and the beds were comfortable. The pool and spa were enjoyable. This was our first time to visit Des Moines, and we had a wonderful time. We hope to come again. Thank you!

The front desk, staff, and all the weight staff for our conference were very accommodating at the hotel itself is a little bit older, but it was in good order. The rooms were clean. The bathrooms were clean. There were some housekeeping issues in the hallway in the elevator, but nothing that would stop me from staying there again. I didn’t take advantage of the pool again. I was there for work, but it looked very nice. there were good amenities at the front desk if you needed a snack or drink, there’s also a really pretty courtyard with a pool area and there’s another little shop there that had many more items to offer. Overall, our experience was very good and I would recommend it to other people.

Positive: The front desk staff at all hours were amazing! My room was very clean, the amenities at this hotel made it so I didn’t even have to leave for two days. All in all though, it was the front desk staff that really made my stay enjoyable! Negative: The hot tub could have been hotter and I would have liked adult only times.

Rooms are standard IHG property rooms but this location has a very helpful and kind staff. Very convenient for the conference that I attended with the convention center connected to the hotel. Location is also very good being across the street from the airport. Location to downtown and other parts of DSM makes it easy to get to local restaurants and stores. I will stay here for future visits to DSM
