Hilton Richmond Downtown

I can’t say enough positive things about this place. I have been traveling to Richmond for a couple of months now and stay here for a few days each week. Although I had slight concerns of a couple minor issues in my first visit with my room, Ashley and her team made short work of things while I was out on the jobsite during the day. My rooms have been clean, comfortable, and at or above what I would expect from a Hilton. The entire front desk has been accommodating, friendly and truly took care of me, most notably- Ashley and Leonardo. Breakfast in the morning- everyone always in such a good mood and took care to understand my regiment, my order and how I liked things. I didn’t even have to ask! We stayed at the Downtown Richmond Hilton on December 30th for one night in a fairly expensive room, expecting a comfortable and professional stay. What we experienced instead was one of the worst hotel stays we’ve ever had.|The morning after our stay, my wife woke up covered in bites on her arms, legs, back, and chest. At the time, we were genuinely unsure what they were—we have never experienced bed bug bites before and never imagined that would be the cause. After returning home and seeking medical care, a doctor confirmed they were bed bug bites.|When we later reported this to the hotel, the response from staff was appalling. Rather than concern or accountability, we were met with indifference and the question: “Can you prove it?” There was no empathy, no attempt to investigate, and no

Positive: Room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. Negative: Valet service was poor and expensive. Had to pay for water in the room. Shower gel was empty and when housekeeping brought new they just left it on the counter rather than replacing expired bottle.

I recently stayed at this hotel and overall, the facility was quite nice. The parking setup was a little different than what I’m used to, but it actually worked out in my favor, so no complaints there. The location was excellentand it was just a short walk to the Dominion Theater, which made getting to shows very convenient. There were also plenty of restaurants within walking distance, giving lots of options for dining without needing to drive. The hotel’s restaurant/bar in the lobby stayed open until 1am on the weekend. I didn’t get a chance to try it myself, but it was definitely busy and seemed like a popular spot for guests. I am a Hilton Honors member and wanted to share a concerning experience at Hilton Richmond Downtown. On 2/26/2026 at approximately 1:54 AM, I called the front desk for assistance. The representative I spoke with refused to provide his name when I politely asked for identification and then hung up the phone on me. This was very disappointing, especially as a Hilton Honors guest who expects professional and respectful service at all times. I strongly recommend that management investigate who was working at that time, as the interaction reflected very poor customer service and a lack of willingness to assist Hilton Honors members. I hope the hotel addresses this issue to ensure better guest experiences in the future.
