Hilton Garden Inn Wilkes Barre

Hotel is very nice staff generally friendly. Horrible experience with the breakfast staff. Sat down waited 10 minutes and the waitress never tried even take my order. She spent her time bs gossiping at the bar with the two guys camped there from the night prior. Then she decided to talk about the weather with someone else. Mind you I was the only person there that was waiting for. service. Got the breakfast fee credited to points as I got tired of waiting when no one else was even there.

This hotel is like a new hotel. Very clean, all systems work well and quietly. The fan in the heating/cooling system can be set to run continuously. Staff were responsive to my request to place anniversary flowers ordered from a local florist into the room prior to our arrival. |The desk clerk Shelia seemed excited to help us have a great hotel experience . She even gave us vouchers for free breakfast to celebrate our anniversary. |An unusually nice hotel and great treatment by all employees we encountered. I have stayed in many Hilton/ Hampton hotels and this ranks with the very best. I highly recommend this hotel.

Clean and smelled fresh in the public area as well as in my room. Bed was comfortable, had enough towels in the bathroom, and plenty of outlets on both sides of the bed. I like that they got rid of wall to wall carpet and had a lot of the vinyl plank in the room. Seems like the recent renovation really modernized the place. I would definitely stay here again when traveling through the area. Oh! One down side is that water pressure on the 4th floor is a little low and the bathrooms don’t have any fans so it got steamy in there. But this was a minimal annoyance.

Positive: Very clean hotel with friendly and accommodating staff. Next door to Starbucks and Walmart and a lot of stores within a 5 min drive. Negative: Pool has particles in it but it was the end of the night so that wasn’t a deal breaker .

The hotel claims to have blackout curtains. This is not even close to being true. While the center of the curtain maybe blackout, the more than an inch on both side defeat the purpose. The hotel claims to provide $10 per day. Though you better not use it in the morning of days stay and the evening of the next days stay or they will hit you with the extra cost. Even if you don't use it any other time during your stay. The hotel just went through a renovation and looks like it needs a major renovation again. While they made the front entrance look nice that is where they stopped. Overall the vast majority of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
