Hilton Boston Back Bay

My husband is a life diamond member. We stayed at this hotel two years ago and liked the location. This time, we have booked a 4 nights stay. We checked in last night, and was happy that we got upgraded to a suite. I don't care if there is no other service due to the renovation, but I was disappointed that our room even didn't get cleaned when we came back in the late afternoon. When we called for some coffee and two bottled water, we waited for more than an hour. On our way out in the evening, we told the front dest we needed a toothpaste and was told it would be sent to our room. When we came back more than two hours later and no toothpaste in the room, we called again. More than two hours later, nothing. So we called again. This time, it was quick. ***WARNING!!***|"Ugh" this visit! Unfortunately, my husband & I had a quite disappointing stay this time. We come annually and typically enjoy the stay & recommend to our social group that joins the Boston trip. However, here's the list of issues (stayed 12/27 & 12/28):|--Apparently, major reno happening with no mention of that anywhere online, no signage in lobby, etc. Had we known, we would've stayed at a different property.|--no nice big bar off lobby due to renovation which was a serious hassle because we had an alumni weekend planned with at least 16 people 10 of which were staying in the hotel specifically because the easy access to the really nice bar that user to be on the hotel!|--jackhammerlike drilling noise at 9:15am on floor above (we were on 16th floor--completely unacceptabl

This was the worst Hilton I’ve stayed at during my travels. It was raining during my visit, and surprisingly, the front desk told me they didn’t have any umbrellas available—quite unbelievable for a hotel of this brand. The property was under renovation, which made the overall experience even less enjoyable. The restaurant was also underwhelming—not fancy or memorable at all.If you're in the area, I recommend staying at the Sheraton just across the road. It’s a much better option.

The location is excellent, which makes this stay all the more disappointing.||We just completed a 12-night stay, and throughout it there were repeated issues with housekeeping and basic communication. Requests were sometimes acknowledged but not followed through on, and routine service was unreliable even when the “do not disturb” sign was off the door and instructions were clear.||What was most troubling was the apparent lack of coordination and ownership. Front desk staff seemed disconnected from housekeeping, and responses often leaned toward explanations rather than solutions. I reached out directly to the General Manager with a detailed account of our experience and received no response.||This did not feel like a one-off mistake but rather a pattern of inattention and poor leadership.

Every time we are in Boston this is where we stay. We have been staying here since 2008 and although the staff has changed through the years the staff is always friendly and helpful. The hotel is quiet and clean even when you stay at a peak time. The restaurant is great for breakfast and dinner and that staff is terrific too. If you are lucky you will meet Kevin the doorman/ bellman who has been at this hotel for 31 years. I look forward to the next time I can stay at Hilton Back Bay.
