Oscar is an incredibly kind person who genuinely cares about guests. My brother and I went to pick up our order and didn’t realize we had ordered too much pizza, so our hands were completely full. Oscar immediately stepped in and offered to help us without us even asking. What really stood out was that he wouldn’t even accept a tip, which shows how sincere and thoughtful he truly is. He also took the time to talk with my brother about the property, listened carefully, and gave us helpful recommendations. It’s refreshing to see that there are still genuinely kind people out there. The front desk staff member, whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch, was also very kind. I was eating in the lobby and before I even asked where the trash bin was, he noticed and kindly showed me. The Hayes Mansion is a historical property that's incredibly lovely and well maintained. The Palm and Ember restaurant has some delicious food options, including Vegan selections. There's also a lovely library room where they have tea service in the afternoons that's also a terrific place to enjoy a glass of wine and a snack. The rooms are lovely and updated. There's a swimming pool and hot tub for the guests to enjoy. The grounds are large, green and lovely!

The hotel had a peaceful atmosphere that made my stay very relaxing. My room was spotless and offered a lovely view. Every staff member I met was professional and kind. The breakfast area was clean and had plenty of good choices. An excellent option for travelers looking for comfort.

Positive: The pool was great. Streaming options on the rooms? TV?s have improved. Negative: All complaints are minor.1. Bathtub drain was slow.2. Shampoo supplied in bathroom did not distribute well into one?s hair when applied.3. Toilet paper roll holder did not function; had to leave roll on countertop.4. Room?s fridge wasn?t cold enough.

For years we've enjoyed dining and staying at the Historic Hayes Mansion in San Jose. Recently we led an excursion group of 15 seniors to the HISTORIC HAYES for a tour and lunch and it was a perfect outing. This is one of the premier dining spots in Santa Clara County. The mansion itself is worth seeing but dining there and/or staying over for a night or more is definitely a 5 star experiencer. AUDREY did all the planning for us and gave us a wonderful tour very professionally and smoothly. The lunch was delightful and our waitress PAZ was special.
