Hampton Inn & Suites Richmond - Downtown

Positive: Location and front desk staff! They were really great and helpful. Negative: Bathtub clogged, toilet seat cover broke.

Stayed for two nights during bad weather. Room was nice enough. Kind of odd entering through the entrance to the Post Office. When I got to my room, the television did not work. I called down to the front desk and said it was gonna be a long night if I didn't have anything to do, so he said he would send up maintenance. They showed up a little while later while I was down getting my luggage. I was also told they would be breakfast at 6 AM. I was interested in that because I had to be at work by seven, so I needed to eat quickly. The elevators are a little odd, but I have run into this in New Jersey, so figured it out quickly. Enough cannot be said about the exceptional services I received at the Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Richmond, VA. ||This location is truly honoring the Hilton Worldwide International Values & Mission. Conrad Hilton would be proud!||The entire facility was immaculate, and the customer service 2nd to none.|I had the pleasure to be welcomed & assisted by Jacob. He is a very dedicated, loyal, and intent on ensuring that the guest is highly satisfied, & the room is beyond the standards. ||Jacob is extremely poised, professional, willing to assist, & more!||Each Team-Member is equally exceptional!||I would certainly return for another stay. This was the worst hotel experience I have had. I stayed for three nights, and throughout my stay there were significant issues that were not adequately resolved. In my original room, the shower water was dangerously hot to the point that it was unusable and posed a burn risk. After the first day without being able to shower, I was moved to a different room. Unfortunately, the second room had a strong mold/mildew odor and was recently reopened following a leak according to the manager. I was then moved back to my original room and informed that if I needed to shower, I could use a separate room in the hotel that was currently under maintenance for HVAC issues.

I hated this hotel! We drove around the block twice before pulling over to try and find entrance. Then we were told to park on the parking deck named Homewood Suites, take elevator to 4th floor or something to the correct lobby. Stupid plan! Service was fine, but not friendly. Room was adequate, mattress terrible. Bath good. Returned from our event around 10:30pm to find homeless people sleeping just outside lobby. We had to walk over them to get to front desk. No security on elevator, anyone could get onto our floor. Ice machines were turned off. That's the end of Hampton Inn for us.
