Hampton Inn & Suites Ann Arbor West

We stayed one night at this hotel as it was about one of the few hotels that had good reviews. We didn't make reservations and were able to just walk in and book a room. Great price for our room! Easy parking and getting on and off the major roads. There is remodeling going on on the 3rd floor. It didn't bother us. We stayed on the 4th floor. Room was comfortable as was the king bed. Bathroom was clean. There wasn't a light bulb in the lamp on the side of the bed that my husband slept on. We mentioned it to the staff when we checked out as we didn't really need to use that lamp. Only thing was a rusty water stain down the one shower wall by a hand rail. We didn't use the exercise room, pool or hot tub. My husband did feel the water of both the pool and hot tub. I failed to check in electronically and as such was assigned a handicapped accessible room. I asked for a diamond upgrade or a non-handicapped accessible room and was told by the front desk clerk that they were pretty busy. She said they had a suite and quoted a dollar amount. I then asked if we could have water and she pointed to where the water was kept and said help yourself. So much for being welcomed as a diamond member…I have also found lately with Hilton that this almost impossible to select a room without having to pay more money. There are maybe one or two standard rooms and the rest are considered upgrades. I guess it’s time to go back to Marriott.

Genuinely one of the NICEST stays I've ever encountered at a hotel for a number of reasons. To preface there is not a single thing that could have gone better. Coming off of a long drive all the way from. Kansas city that day having left at noon and arriving here at this Hampton at nearly 4 am after driving 14 hours. I was greeted with the most lovely humans I could've met. He was very very kind and took my walk-in booking and upgraded me to the suite room. I got the complementary bottles of water and spoke for a few minutes and he was nothing but fantastic. He was even nice enough to place me on the bottom floor as I had a ton of luggage which saved me from lugging it up the elevator. It was absolutely wonderful. Very very quiet the whole evening. Positive: Reasonable rate. Negative: Breakfast was only fair. Alarm clock was broken. Water pressure was weak. Floors and walls show wear and dirt. Remodel is due. Parking lot and fencing needs improvement.

Loved loved the location, the fitness center and the service. Rachel was amazing during check in as well as check out. She and the pool are the reason I intend to return. I seriously needed this break. I am sincerely grateful to have received it 🙏❤️.
