Hampton Inn Cookeville

After reading positive reviews for this facility, I was a bit disappointed. This facility was not up to typical Hampton Inn Standards overall. You pay a little more than some hotel and expect a little more. First, the positive portion. Checking in was awesome because the fellow at the front desk had super personality! Here are 5 specific things that disappointing. 1) the HVAC unit made significant noise each time it cycled on. If I were staying longer than one night, I would certainly have asked to be moved into another room. 2) even though it was an upper floor, two small spiders were in the tub. Not alarming and easy to dispose of but notable. 3) There was zero shaving cream available in the facility: none as complimentary and none for sale. 4) No decaf tea in the facility. 5) Le

Was on a weekend trip when my car needed a trip to the emergency room. Dropped off the at the mechanic and took an Uber to the hotel. While checking in, told the front desk that it was my birthday, and now car repairs were side-lining the trip. Went up to the room and 15 min later, got a knock on the door. The staff had purchased a balloon and wrote a sweet card to wish me a happy birthday. Needed a late checkout as I was still waiting on the car to finish wrapping up and they told me to take my time. The service at this hotel was incredible! I spilled my dog's food in the hallway while I was bringing things in, and I asked one of the housekeepers if I could borrow a broom- she immediately came down with a vacuum and cleaned it up. Behind the front desk was Sam W.- a SUPERSTAR asset to the Hilton Corporation! Not only in representation of the necessary fundamental qualities of the position, but he also made our stay feel so welcome which is such a plus for weary travelers. What a GREAT individual with integrity. I will definitely stay here in the future- thank you!

While the location suited our immediate needs as we desperately needed to get off the road for the night; the room and service was extremely lacking. The gentleman at the desk was able to accommodate us with a room however we were unable to close either the curtain or pull the blind down to block folks view of us in the room from fuel station. Called front desk ( on my iPhone, as there is no room phone) and explained our situation. He said it must be our mistake and we don’t know what we are doing. Did not get a different room. Had to tie the ends of the curtains together and block with two bed pillows. People could still see in. Told the same gentleman 3 hours later and he just shrugged it off. Only good thing about this place was the water pressure. Wished the door would have remained
