Perfect Marina Basecamp on Lombard Street! If you’re looking for a no-frills, high-value stay in one of San Francisco’s best neighborhoods, this is it. Staying in a King Room on Lombard Street was the perfect choice for a weekend exploring the Marina The Marina Lifestyle: You are just a few blocks away from the stunning Palace of Fine Arts and the Marina Green. We loved being able to walk over to Chestnut Street for morning coffee and late-night dinners—the dining options nearby are endless and much more "local" than staying downtown. Spacious & Updated: For a 2-star motel, the King Room was surprisingly roomy. The bed was huge and comfortable, and the room featured modern touches like a large flat-screen TV and fast Wi-Fi. It didn't feel like a "budget" room once the door was closed.
The hotel is centrally located and accessible via foot or public transport. The hotel offers relatively basic accommodation and is somewhat tight when sharing with four persons and their luggage, however rooms are clean, well serviced and air conditioned. The location felt safe and clean. There were a few small cafes and restaurants in short walking distance. The attendants were very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to the evening attendant who rushed out to help us with parking our very large 12 seater vehicle without request, and continued to be helpful for the remainder of our stay.
The beds were reasonably comfortable, and the overall cleanliness of the room was acceptable. The hotel’s location is excellent and provides convenient access to the surrounding area. However, these positive aspects were significantly undermined by several issues encountered during the stay. Most notably, the air-conditioning units produced a remarkably loud and continuous noise, which made it extremely difficult to sleep. This level of disturbance is incompatible with a restful environment and should be addressed urgently. A more concerning matter arose during the checkout process. The staff member who assisted us exhibited unexpectedly rude behavior. We requested permission to leave our small bags in the lobby while we went out for breakfast, particularly given that we were completing
Positive: Free parking Negative: The toilet leaked and the bathroom fan didn't work . There was some water coming from the fridge too .it was definitely loud at times . But it got quite after 10 pm .
Do not stay here! The reception staff were extremely rude. Advised that we could not store our luggage as we arrived early and we were told to go find a storage unit. Staff were extremely rude to our children and wouldn’t allow them to utilize coffee machine for a hot chocolate. Staff told my husband to go away when he came to assist child. Rooms are tiny and were filthy. Staff would not provide extra pillows as 6 half size pillows were provided for 4 people. Air conditioning units were extremely loud.
