Four Points by Sheraton Charlotte - Lake Norman

We stayed the last weekend of January during the winter storm in Charlotte, NC. While there were 4 full-service restaurants around the hotel, we appreciated the ability to get a quick bite from the bar so that we did not have to worry about going out for dinner. The bar/breakfast dining room was roomy and comfortable, and the connected bonus TV area was a nice addition. The rooms are standard, but cozy, with comfortable mattress and extra pillows! Having not only a fridge but a small microwave was great, since we were snowed in on one day and we could warm up purchased food from the local Whole Foods. Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating, even with the weather inconvenience. We always felt welcome. Yes, we plan on staying there in the future.

We stayed 3 nights for the events surrounding our granddaughter's wedding. First of all, the sign is so small everyone passed it. The restaurant next to it had a huge sigh. The rooms are well-appointed and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom had absolutely no place to hang the towels we used daily and had them hanging around the room to dry. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is nicely decorated. The Market was not too well stocked and we never saw a gift shop, not that we were looking for one, but it did advertise it.

Positive: I don’t recall his name but the host brought up a bottle of water to our room without being asked because I inquired about water being provided in the room. We had 4 people in our party but only one bottle of water. He went above and beyond. Negative: Double beds are too small. Should be queen beds for those traveling with children.

I booked it through American Express only to find out it was sent out to a third-party by Expedia. The first room that was given to me, had a large stain on the mattress, the carpet was filthy and disgusting, the room smelt of mold, the dirt all over the place and I arrived at 6:45 PM at night to find this shipwreck.
