You certainly get what you pay for. It's not a bad place to stay if you're traveling with all adults, but wouldn't recommend it to anyone traveling with younger children. Front desk staff was amazing! The room left a bit to be desired. Dirty shower floor, visible mold and mildew in bathroom, and the linens of both beds in my room had stains. Some *looked* like blood and a mysterious yellow. The front desk gave me new sheets to change them myself but the new ones also had the mysterious red stain?? The floor was dirty and when I had to change my own sheets saw a bunch of previous guests' hair on the mattress protector. But, it was a cheap stay for 5 nights in the city. For the price of the rooms, this is a great choice for a cheap but relaxing stay. The staff was very friendly and I had no problems checking in or out. The area is a little more sketchy but not too bad. It was a perfectly decent room. Bed was clean but the shower is a little dirty but not enough for concern. Overall, I would say you get a little more than what you pay for. Completely decent room for a cheaper stay in San Francisco.

This place ticked a box- clean, warm and fairly priced. Family of 5 with teens - 2 rooms. We slept ok after a long flight. Staff were helpful - wifi is good. Free coffee was handy. Waking distance to some nice coffee and pastry places. Neighbourhood is not the best but we had no issues.

I stayed at this hotel from Friday, December 26 to Tuesday, December 30, and had a very good experience. I highly recommend it, especially for travelers staying between 3 and 6 days in San Francisco. The hotel is very centrally located, making it easy to get around the city. Inside the building it feels safe and quiet, and everything was clean and well maintained. The building itself is old, but it is in good condition and everything works properly, which was not an issue at all. A nice bonus is that there is a microwave, coffee, and water available in the lobby, which is very convenient. Honestly I was quite surprised. Given the price and older building, I was expecting way less than what I got. The room was nicely made up and maintained, so the age of the building became more of a neat aesthetic rather than a drawback. Staff were very kind and personable. Location is pretty central, not necessarily "close" to anything but not far from anything either. Public transit nearby is hit or miss. Otherwise it is just barely north of the Tenderloin, so some sketchy encounters but no actual confrontations and people kinda just ignore you, but there are "nicer" locations in SF to stay. However, given the price of my 5 night stay being near the cost of one night at other hotels, I really cannot complain. Great place to stay for short visits and for those expecting to be out and about
