Fitzgerald Hotel Union Square

We’ve stayed at the Fitzgerald before and had a positive experience, which is why we chose to book there again. Unfortunately, during our most recent stay, it was clear that the quality has declined. We reserved a queen room and, based on the photos and our previous visits, had reasonable expectations. However, when we checked in and saw the room, it did not meet those expectations. The sheets did not appear clean, and the refrigerator was not functioning properly. We understand that this is not a five-star hotel, and we weren’t expecting luxury. However, we did expect basic cleanliness and more helpful, apologetic customer service when issues were brought to their attention. We asked to switch rooms, but our request was denied. Instead, we were given replacement sheets and told to change

The staff is exceptionally responsive and handled with respect. Mr. Ahmad aka AK, the front desk staff, is exceptionally kind and helpful. If required, they can arrange for room service we need to mention at the desk everyday morning. |The location is conveniently situated close to the city and the neighborhood is pleasant. They will upgrade the room if it's available with small fee. I would strongly suggest booking a queen size bed for two individuals.

Save yourself feom this place... Has no AC, so you have to crack windows but its SO loud outside. Kids playing on the fire escape all hours of the night, super small rooms. We had roaches and other bugs in the bathroom. Best thing I can say about this place is they gave us a refund after the first night for the next 3 nights we were supposed to stay. Old as crap, elevator seems like its gna break down everytime. Much better places to stay than this.. dont do it.. i tried to warn ya...

We had a good stay at this hotel, with a great location. The hotel is old, but we really appreciated its historical charm, especially the beautiful staircases and the delightful elevator. The beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good, yogurt , bagels, cream cheese, oaks, apples and oranges, coffee. We felt that the price matched the quality of our stay perfectly.

It's fine for an overnight stay, but it's worth mentioning that the photos on the platforms don't match the actual hotel and rooms at all. The person at reception in the morning isn't friendly and has an angry attitude. They need to check the cleanliness details. The only good thing is the location.
