Fairmont San Francisco

The Fairmont is absolutely a grand old girl with opulent marble and gilding throughout. The lobby was decked out for Christmas with the amazing gigantic gingerbread house which looks and smells delicious. That was a big reason why I booked our stay in SF here. Beautiful Christmas decor in every corner. Over the weekend, people crowded in and took advantage of the champagne bar.||Our room on the 10th floor overlooked the bay. The bed was comfy and the espresso coffee bar had tons of snacks, wine, and waters. Be aware that the snacks and beverages (other than the espresso pods) carry a premium price along with extra restocking fees and tax tacked on.||The bath was beautiful with separate bathtubs and shower. Had a great stay here with fantastic views. Recommend the tower rooms. Take time to wander and read about the history of the place. Reminds me of grove park in Asheville. Emmanuel at the front desk is top notch and went out of his way to make sure we felt welcomed after a long travel day.

We paid almost $1300 for one night in the Santa Suite. When we checked in, the bell desk gave us a trolley and loaded one piece of our luggage onto there and then asked my husband to load everything else. The lobby was insanely packed with people trying to see the gingerbread house (not worth making the trip to see) and the check in line is the longest I've seen at a Fairmont. We asked the guy checking us in if it was necessary to make reservations for breakfast or not and he told us no. Next morning the wait was over 45 minutes because we didn't have a reservation. The Santa Suite decoration was fine and the view was great. We wanted to open the bottle of sparkling apple cider they gave us, but they didn't provide an opener so we called guest services. Travelled from Melbourne , Australia to stay here for 2 nights 12th and 13th December. The hotel itself is visibly stunning! It felt so festive & lovely when we walked in. Unfortunately due to the level of popularity the Christmas display attracts - it’s makes it very difficult for hotel guests to walk around without disrupting photos being taken & bumping into families with children. Would recommend having select times for access. Check in process - not great - although the staff member was delightful, we were given poor directions resulting in quite a delay getting into our room when it was late. The room was lovely looking HOWEVER noticed the bathroom sink had green mildew in it. (The hole at the front). The hairdryer - likely from when the hotel was first constructed - for such a lov

It’s always been my dream to stay here and we were finally able to make it come true this December! My sister and I were attending an event at the Masonic which is walking distance from the Fairmont. With the combination of that and it being decorated for the holidays it was a no brainer and we knew we had to stay here! The lobby is so magical during the holidays with the decorations and huge gingerbread house. Our room was very nice and had comfy beds. All of the hotel staff was exceptionally kind and very helpful. I would definitely stay here again! They also are home to the Tonga room restaurant and if you have time I HIGHLY recommend you go!
