Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites DeSoto Dallas South

I recently planned a trip to Dallas to visit my girlfriend and booked this hotel in advance through Expedia. When I arrived late at night after a three-hour drive from Nacogdoches, my experience at the front desk was very disappointing. The employee who checked me in, Belle, was eating at the desk while speaking to me. She continued chewing while talking, which I found unprofessional and rude. She started with basic pleasantries, but after seeing my ID, she began questioning where I was coming from. When I told her Nacogdoches, she commented that it “wasn’t that far,” which felt dismissive considering I had just driven several hours at night. She then informed me that because I am under 21, I could not stay at the hotel. I understand that policies are policies, and I respect that rule. M

I stay at Fairfield Inn several times per month. The main issue I always have is their breakfast operations which have all the right variety but nothing is really great. I have considered changing brands lately because of this, but today (2.7.26) I was blown away by the breakfast at the DeSoto TX location. The young lady running the kitchen is a ROCKSTAR. Everything was fresh and clean and hot. She had four different types of fresh melon displayed like a cruise ship buffet. She had hot tortillas next to the eggs, potatoes and pork sausage. She never stopped moving through the dining room smiling and checking on the guest and cleaning while talking and smiling! What an inspiration she was and everyone was talking about. First off the customer service is top notch. Walking into the hotel, it smells great! Fresh and clean. My first visit Ms. Belle won me over for future stays. My recent visit, i was impressed on how well Ms Justine handled a busy lobby.

The hotel was great and clean. I stayed at the explore rate and unlike sometimes where the treatment and room cleanliness has been bad, this time everything was smooth and went well. I think the staff was amazing and accommodated me due to my unique work situation. Def recommend.

The only constructive criticism I can offer would be some better pillows. I find them a bit too soft and end up having to stack 4 of em 😅. Other than that, excellent and friendly staff. I caught a interaction between a customer and a manager; the customer was very rude and demanding about which room he wanted to be in and the manager who handled it did so elegantly with professionalism and politeness. I told her she handled it well and she said it ain't no thang. Rooms are clean and comfy. Right off the highway and next door to a waffle house, what more could you ask for?
