Extended Stay America Suites- Sacramento - West Sacramento

The first time we booked a room here our GPS kept sending us to Ikea. I finally called Extended Stay and the young lady was friendly and informative. She directed us to the hotel and help us to get settled in with enthusiasm. Nancy is an asset to this organisation and we have returned here four times always looking forward to seeing her. In the business world is feels grat to find someone who is both knowledgeable, professional and friendly.

Positive: Seems understaffed and it is not clean enough for infants or children under 1 to be there. Negative: The stove we used when we turned it on had burnt food caked on the stove and we had to scrub the stove which isn’t our job but other than that it was good enough.

Upon arriving in West Sacramento for a class, I was initially impressed by the exterior of the establishment, which appeared inviting based on online reviews and photographs. However, my experience was far from satisfactory. Upon entering, I was met with an unpleasant odor reminiscent of marijuana. Furthermore, I discovered two used condoms on the stairs, which further detracted from the overall impression. The interior of the establishment appeared dated and neglected. The surrounding area also conveyed a sense of unease, characterized by a high concentration of homeless individuals and frequent reports of car break-ins. The hotel is filthy. It looks like no one has ever vacuumed the hallways. My room smelled a little off, like too much air freshener, looked clean enough, but I found some used and discarded contacts on the bathroom floor, so I don't think the rooms are actually cleaned. The third night I spent here there was someone smoking so much weed on the third floor (for reference, I was on the second floor) that the smell was coming into my room from under the door and it set off the fire alarms and we all had to be evacuated until the fire department could come turn it off. Every time I had to ask something at the front desk no one was there and I had to wait a minimum of 5 minutes for someone to arrive to help me. Stayed one night at the end of January, 2026. By far one of the sketchiest places I have ever stayed in my entire life. The reviews online did not at all match reality. I’m fairly certain there blood stains on the carpet in my room. They don’t have shampoo in the shower and you have to request it (very weird). The area is SCARY. I had some gentleman stand behind my car for a bit after I parked for the night. Also had some weirdos in the hotel and at the gas station nearby. Lots of yelling and what sounded like gunshots. Do yourself a favor and pay another $50 or $60 and go somewhere nicer. Pillows are small and not fluffy; I had to use all three. The water pressure was also miserable in the shower and the sink water sprayed everywhere. The front desk folks were nice, though.
