This place is absolutely filthy. When I first stayed at this place it was actually pretty nice,. And it's gone downhill since then. I just stayed there the other night and after paying for the room which was $80 and no BA. I guess I just assumed/hoped the bathrooms would be decent. I mean how bad could they be for 80 bucks. Learned that lesson real fast. SNOT I mean literally human nose snot was crusted on the walls. Not just an isolated spot, but a general splattering everywhere. There were no towels.... No blankets..... No batteries in the remote control.... No garbage service, so the overflowing trash bags were spilling out nasty trash throughout the hallways.
In the amazingly friendly city that is San Francisco, it is almost surreal coming 'home' every night to such an unfriendly place as this hotel. ||||First things first: This place now has the beautifully ironic name 'Elite Inn'. The hotel is very basic, but that's what we signed up for. Unfortunately some small adjustments that would make the place basic but fine, were not made. Because, frankly, nobody cares. A few hooks on the wall in both our room as well as the shared bathroom would have gone a long way. But they're not there, so there is no place to put your stuff anywhere. On our ceiling, there was an unidentified device (smoke alarm, fresh air?) that was covered in aliminium foil, which raised some questions about safety. Speaking of fresh air; every night we came home to the odor of
Worst place I've ever stayed! We booked the room and arrived after check-in time, but it still wasn’t ready. We had to wait 5 hours after the designated check-in time. When we finally got in, the room was dirty. There was a significant amount of dirt under the bed, including dog food. I had an absolutely terrible experience.
Nice rooms, friendly staff. Would not book again. But no elevator, so we had to carry the suitcases to the third floor 😅 (normally not really a big issue but we were making a 3 month road trip so you can imagine the suitcases being a bit heavy and all) Apparently the hotel is in the Tenderloin neighborhood. I had no idea when I booked this but this is not the neighborhood for tourists... Do yourself a favor and do a quick Google search about the good and bad neighborhoods before you book a hotel 😂 In the end we had no trouble with it, as long as you just walk straight to Union Square (2 minutes) and not the other way because that actually was scary! Also loud music at night and a lot of people shouting but that was part of the Tenderloin problem not the hotel. In the end we had a nice
Fabulous front desk and facility cleaner. They would be gems at Four Seasons or St. Regis. The accommodations are modest and location is tough, but it is a great value for those of us without big wallets.
