Econo Lodge McAlester

Rooms: Sheets have stains and not washed. Holes in the top blanket and manager doesn't want to replace them because of money issues. Stains on lamp cover, leaking water with bucket under the toilet, bugs in the light cover in the bathroom, broken door lock, holes in walls and ceiling damage, light bulb missing at mirror, microwave is damaged, dirty, and out of date, and light covers next to bed damaged. Service: GM informed me that he did a walk through in this room knowing all the problems it had besides the toilet. He still sell the room anyways. Then gave me his word to refund me the points associated with choice-U. I never received points and kept following up weekly about them. Been polite to him, but now he is hanging up my phone number. We stay here yearly. This is the first time our stay wasn't pleasant. The room had a bad odor. We didn't arrive until almost midnight and weren't able to shower because when we turned the water on, the pipes made a LOUD, horrible noise and we didn't want to wake the neighbors. This is also the first time we've stayed on the second floor so I do't know if that had something to do with it.. Every other time for the last five years was nice though.

We drove all the way from Wisconsin to Houston, Texas. We decided to book a room here for a quick pit stop. We booked through Expedia. Upon arrival, manager (Robert is supposedly his name) said we had no reservation. After looking at our email- it did say that the reservation “failed”. So we decided to just book directly with him as it was late at night & we were exhausted. ||||We get into our room & it was disgusting. Holes in the walls of the smallest bathroom I’ve ever seen stuffed with toilet paper. Dirt all over the floors. Bed linens were a joke! I felt very unsafe as well. Windows don’t lock making it very easy for someone to break in. ||||As this was a quick pit stop, we just sucked it up. However, this is when things continued to go downhill. EDIT: After I posted the below review, Econo Lodge sent a scathing and inappropriate email (which I have attached as an additional photo) in which they took the extreme step of banning us from future stays at their hotel; and in the public review reply below, blaming us for things not even mentioned in my original review. My original review was meant to be a polite but honest assessment for the benefit of other people who rely on Google Maps, which does in fact list incorrect info. Regarding the additional $3 fee — this was hidden in fine print that the average person is not going to notice. Due to the rudeness of the two replies I received, I am dropping my star rating to 1 star from 3. I recommend that everyone avoid this hotel. I certainly wouldn't want to return. We were really disappointed with our stay. We made our reservation on Priceline and the pictures of the hotel are not the same as the rooms at the hotel at all. The room at this hotel are not clean. Sheets have blood spots and bugs and bathroom tub is so filthy you couldn't take a shower or a bath. All we really wanted to do was get a bath and a good night's sleep. We asked to have the bathroom re cleaned and they said couldn't do it and we said give us the supplies and we'd do it well it didn't do any good the dirt wouldn't come out and the clerk informed us no baths only showers per management well that ruin the whole stay no bath no sleep. I will never stay in this Econo lodge again and I recommend asking questions before booking or giving your credit card number as they charged me twic
