Travelodge by Wyndham McAlester

Stayed there 1 night. Loby was clean and appealing. Opened the door to our room and everything looked just like the pictures on the website. Towels were clean, big and soft. Bed was firm and comfortable and looked like someone in the military made it expecting an inspection from their commanding officer. There was a desk and chair to work at as well as a chair and ottoman to put your feet up and relax. They have a fridge that actually keeps things cold. They provide soap, shampoo and conditioner as well as a cloth to remove women's makeup. We did research and looked at reviews before deciding to check out this hotel. We stay in town periodically and have stayed at other hotels in the past which is why we were doing research. Other hotels that we have stay in in the past left us sceptical

I'm not sure why this motel was rated as high as it was according to past reviews. First of all, as noted by others, the motel is very difficult to find, located behind a Lowe's with no signage visible from the highway. |Upon entering the lobby, I noticed the entrance door needed a fresh coat of paint. Inside the lobby were several old torn chairs that appeared to be past their prime. On a positive note, the staff was very pleasant. |My first impression upon entering the room was dated - older carpet, funky perfume/stale odor, outdated heating/ac system, and what appeared to be a bug squished on the ceiling. |All night long I was disturbed by the upstairs guests walking around and slamming items on the floor. |Overall, I would rank this motel as a budget motel - I would recommend av

Positive: Second time staying here, this time was somewhat better than the first. Room was clean, bed was ok for an overnight stay. Negative: Cold front came in and the room heater wasn't working. The vanity lights for the bathroom sink didn't work either.

I am very thankful to Tashalita who kindly let me cancel our room at the last minute due to cancelled travel plans because of the weather. I do appreciate it & will definitely stay there the next time we had that direction! Thank you!

Staff was great! We stay here often because it’s inexpensive, clean and pet friendly. Only thing we wish was different is that the entrance didn’t smell like cigarettes, they had coffee makers in the room and they had bottled water available for purchase or in the room.
