Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Marietta near Dobbins ARB

Bugs. We should have left immediately. We were so worn out, and everything else in town was booked out for a ball game, we decided to just stay the night. In retrospect, we should have just slept in the car. Door latch to the room worked upside down, that was wild. Door latch to the bathroom did not work at all, had to use a trashcan to keep it closed. TV had one channel, which is wild as well. Baseboards and floors were visibly dirty. And the bugs. I killed a few in the bathroom, my wife killed a few in the bedroom. We just got home and are washing everything that went in there. I went down to the lobby this morning to grab a cup of coffee, because how could you mess that up!? We belong to the Choice Hotels rewards club and try to use one of their brands when traveling. This is the first time that I can remember being disappointed in a hotel under their brands. ||Realizing that Econo Lodge is one of their lesser quality brands, I had not expected a lot. The hotel looks nice from the outside and is very clean. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful in getting us registered. ||The room was clean. It was suite sized and had plenty of room. Bed was comfortable. The room did not have a hair dryer. There was a place for one on the wall. We asked for one, but it never came. There were no Kleenexs. They offered only coffee in the morning. No breakfast items of any type were offered. That may have been due to Covid concerns.

Just know when you go here these people are only out to get the most money they can get from you. They are money driven not customer driven. First of all I wasn't expecting a Hilton room on Franklin Rd so no complaints on the room you get what you pay for . But as a platinum choice member my thoughts were I was offered free early check-in and late checkout. Not here I was charged $15 and $20 for early check-in on the same 3 day stay . I used my points for 1 night stay and was charged a $50 deposit which at the writing of this review has been 16 days later and still no refund. I know they have some BS excuses for not giving it back but if I go up there they better have Marietta PD on site! The old man watched my every move outside the room. Our stay at this hotel was very disappointing. The hygiene was poor, and the bedsheets were so old that the white color had turned gray. The furniture was outdated, dirty, and covered with stains. The heating system was extremely old and noisy so we preferred to keep it off because it was so uncomfortable. On top of all that, the customer service was not helpful or attentive. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

Service and prices are good. Haven't seen any bugs and it's clean. My only complaint is that the rooms could use a little better maintenance and upkeep (dead bulbs, worn out mattresses, and some of the appliances and fixtures need some updates but it looks like they may be working on some of that.)
