Econo Lodge Ankeny - Des Moines

The facility is well located with access to many nearby stores and businesses. The hotel has spacious rooms and adequate amenities, it is clean and house keeping is on point. My only suggestion is about the breakfast, food choices are minimal, and is alway exact same boring choices, I was already not eating there by the 3rd day! There is an indoor pool but it was closed all 3 weeks that we stayed there, maybe due to their budget. The laundry facilities were out of service, which forces patrons to go somewhere else pretty far from hotel. Receptionists are very friendly and accomodating. I would give this hotel a solid 4.4 out of 5.

We stayed in this hotel for two evenings and we were very pleased. Friendly staff at the front desk. Extremely clean room. Breakfast every morning from 6:00 a.m. till 10:00 a.m. Near to a lot of attractions, restaurants, and shopping.

Incredible quality for the cost. Have stayed here when in Ankeny many times. Whole room feels upgraded, and showers are a step above what you usually see at this price. Can easily pay twice this much for similar quality in Des Moines area.

Diffently not what ypu think from the outside. Not going to lie looks a little shady.. but the rooms are nice, clean and roomy. You have to ask for towels and room service but other than that its a nice place. Internet was super fast. We never made it to breakfast but could smell it bacon smelled delicious. Pool looked amazing

Choice hotels say they are "pet friendly" but when you arrive they tack on an additional charge for having a pet. The charge is higher the more you pay for a room. Stayed at Rodeway $10 pet charge. EconoLodge $30 pet charge. So if you hsve a guaranteed reservation, you choose whether to pay the charge or get billed for a room you don't use. Very sneaky way to line the owners pocket taking more money from the middle class. Also this hotel does not have automatic doors so you have to struggle to get you, your pet and belongings through 2 sets of doors, since you are not supposed to leave your pet in your vehicle or in the room alone. The pet rooms are on the second floor of this motel.
