DoubleTree by Hilton Harrisonburg

Positive: The employee at the front desk who checked us in was very friendly, efficient and welcoming. She kindly answered questions and got us items we requested with a smile. We appreciated her genuinely helpful manner. Negative: This was supposed to be a 4-star hotel. Other than the bar downstairs, it was exactly like every 2.5 - 3 star hotel where we've stayed except that there was no free breakfast like many hotels offer. We really expected nicer rooms and more amenities.

Be ware that some rooms are “pool side” with no warning. Our room had this big balcony you couldn’t open the door to but the indoor pool was right there. The room smelt horribly like chlorine and all you could hear was people in the pool. Would have been nice to have been asked if this was okay.

We chose this hotel because it had a restaurant/bar on site. This was important to us. When we made the reservations, the associate was asked twice about the restaurant availability. He assured us that the restaurant was open and would be open when we arrived. |Upon checking in the clerk (Erin) told us the restaurant was closed and had been closed for a while. We told Erin why we picked the hotel and she suggested we could go somewhere else. That wasn't an option and we checked in. Taking a shower determined that the body wash container was empty. Later the TV would not download the programming guide. Was told nothing could be done because no one else complained. Such a wonderful stay at the DoubleTree Harrisonburg. I was coming in for work and we chose the DoubleTree for those cookies, well the hotel looked fun, and the cookies were just a plus. I chatted via the app pre-arrival to see if we could get an upgrade and was able to get into a larger room. Laurie was able to help. Easy check in on arrival via the app. The room was spacious and clean. I walked into a perfect cool temp room. The bed was comfy bed and there was a hot shower. The room had a safe and fridge too. Only downside was the pool was closed for maintenance. I did bring along my trunks but not the end of the world. Would still give it a 5 out of 5. The service was great here and this is a really nice hotel. A little older but adds to the charm and the rooms were very nicely upd

Great stay at the Doubletree Harrisonburg and got to love those cookies. I Easy check in on arrival via the app. The room was spacious and clean and nicely updated.
