This place is great and we use it for family reunions and birthday parties a lot. We reserve it well in advance for a very inexpensive price. The only reason I'm not giving 4 or even 5 stars is because of parking. The few spots in front of the pavilion should be for the pavilion use but they're not designated as such by any signs. For that reason a lot of our guests have to find parking and walk to the party which can be a very long walk. If that situation was taken care of and you don't mind walking, it's a great place.
The park itself is a gem. The shelter big and with tables and benches. Of course there is a barbecue station Adequate free parking and wheelchair access. Clean accessible restrooms. Walk through nature to the clear stream. There are many other picnic tables throughout. This park is a gem, well maintained and clean. Everything is free, just bring your friends and family and start grilling. A place to make good memories.
We LOVED our day at Deep Creek picnic pavilion!! We reserved it for our recent vacation at Great Smoky Mountains. We traveled from Texas and we were total of 4 families and we all had a blast! We did the Deep creek trail loop and hiked to the Junes Whank Waterfalls, we did fishing and tubing. Was awesome to have our own restrooms, was very convenient to have that easy access and were very clean. It also has four charcoal grills, and it can accommodate up to 70 people at 15 covered picnic tables, plus it does has electricity! We also had our own parking area and was perfect for our four vehicles. Another thing that we really liked is that it has a huge green open area in the back that is kind of protected by the surrounding trees, so the little ones were able to run, play and do games and w
With the sound of a flowing creek in the back ground, Deep Creek is the perfect spot for a picnic or some hiking or even camping. With miles of hiking trails you can get lost, figuratively speaking, in nature. Spacious campgrounds gives enough to enjoy camping and still have someone close in case something does go wrong. The rangers of Deep Creek are visible and attentive should you need them. Deep creek is the perfect place to get away be it for a few hours or days at a time.
A nice campground located in the southeast area of the park (west of 441) and pretty close to the popular tourist town of Bryson City. The campgrounds are well maintained, clean and has an awesome creek (Deep Creek) running through it. There is also great tubing opportunities at this campground and the trails are very nice in and around the area and make for nice meandering. The bathrooms are clean and have an adequate number of stalls. However, like most if not all they are not heated and do not have warm/hot water.
