Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls NY - Riverside by IHG

For a “Crown Plaza” this place is a nightmare. I’m only giving 2 stars for the front desk staff and the pizza crust alone. The front staff and Olivia at the restaurant were phenomenal. The hotel itself deserves .5 star if that. The pool has no heat. There is no hot tub. My shower last night was so hot I could barely stand in it and tonight it was almost cold. There was no adjusting the temperature of the water. The bathtub faucet turns all the way around. There is geese poop all over the deck. The entrance and elevator smells like marijuana (which I get might be appealing for some). There are pot hole in the streets of Niagara Falls and you can tell no one really cares about this town. Niagara Falls is a 10 min drive away but the American side is a joke. Makes this nation look horrendous c

Positive: The staff was really great, starting with the upgrade of our hotel room. We really appreciated it, because there is no way we would even consider paying $--- extra per night for a river view. It was nice to have though. Restaurant was nice, but pricey. Negative: Location = meh. No good restaurants etc in walking distance. Maintenance is shoddy. Everything is wonky (plumbing, elevators). Beer menu at bar needs improvement. Rooms were SMALL. Described as 3.5 stars. More like 2.5.

It’s a very old hotel. Kind of a “lipstick on a pig” situation. Checking in the girl was very smug, and didn’t event want to ask about my IHG rewards. Additionally, the floor I stayed on was very loud with people just hanging out and drinking beer in the hallway at 10 o’clock at night. I finally went to lobby and essentially demanded I change rooms. The plumbing in the room was terrible. My shower options were either boiling hot or super hot. No free breakfast and I had to go to the lobby for coffee every morning because the Kuerig in my room looked like it had mold growing inside. I wouldn’t stay here again…

Denise Peacock was my coordinator at Crowne Plaza. She made me feel like a princess and worked day and night to ensure I had the BEST wedding. Working with Denise as our wedding coordinator was truly one of the best decisions we made during our entire wedding planning process. From our very first conversation, Denise impressed us with her responsiveness, warmth, and deep knowledge of the wedding industry. We had the absolute best experience at the Crowne Plaza and especially with Denise who coordinated our wedding. She was organized, professional, kind and truly went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect. The venue was absolutely beautiful, the staff was attentive, and everything ran so smoothly thanks to Denise's expertise and the staff. A special shout out to our waitress, Tina. She was amazing as well. Our guest couldn't stop complimenting the food, the service and how seamless the entire evening felt. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but Denise and the Crowne Plaza team made it feel effortless. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.
