We went in mid-July. 60% of the 4.7 mile hike was muddy. Bug spray is as essential as oxygen. Campsite is close to river. River water have lot of iron, not drinkable even using standard filters, so ration your water accordingly. There is a beaver bridge on the river. If lucky you can spot an otter in the still water.
Great spot if only it had a better water source. Plenty of good flat tent pads and plenty of good hammock trees. Luckily the night before our hike the area had a good thunder storm which filled and washed out the pools that make up the source when the seasonal stream isn't flowing. The current guide book does state that this camp can get busy since the section before it has no camping so be mindful of that.
Nice camp site there is no water because of the dry conditions
Easy to get to, and a peaceful night's sleep on the trail
Well kept and pretty campsite on the SHT.
