Gooseberry Park Cottages & Motel

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay during an epic blizzard. Nick and Danielle were wonderful hosts. They were hospitable, responsive and genuinely concerned for our comfort and safety. Don’t know how they did it, but kept the lots cleared in the midst of 24” of snow. The views from the cabin of the storm on the lake were a once in a lifetime experience. Cabin was comfortable, cozy, spotless and well stocked for our stay. Beds & linens were very comfortable. Can’t wait to go back. (2 great restaurants within walking distance are a PLUS)

I can't say enough good things about our Mom/adult daughters ' Gooseberry Park Cottage experience! Here are a few reasons why: *The gentleman (I'm assuming the owner, Nick) was kind enough to lay down extra gravel on the pathway to our cottage due to two of our guests being unsteady on their feet. He also helped unload our cars, came quickly when we needed help figuring out the fireplace, it was very kind and friendly. *The cottage felt like visiting someone's home, rather than paid lodging. It was very well appointed, updated with newer fixtures and appliances, lovely and crisply fresh linens, and was impeccably clean. We go to this spot every year...why? Because we LOVE it. there are five(?) motel rooms|(I believe four have kitchens in them) plus an area in front of your room facing the lake and garden...The cottages are one and two bedrooms. The all have an area in front of the cabin where you can look our on the lake...It's VERY clean, right by the lake, it's quiet and one of the BEST parts are the owners Nic and Danille. they are wonderful!!!|There is no restaurant on site...BUT, The Rustic Inn is right across the street...they serve good food there. The units all come with coffee makers...

When I needed a place for 3 more nights on the North Shore after leaving Grand Marais, I chanced upon Gooseberry Park Cottages and Motel in an internet search. What a delightful stroke of luck! Traveling alone, I found my accommodation extraordinarily clean, comfortable, safe, and pleasant. I could sit on my private balcony and experience the wonder of the lake, cook for myself or eat at a cafe in nearby Two Harbors or at a restaurant right across highway 61, hike in several nearby state parks. I had the opportunity to meet and chat with Nick and want to give a shout-out to Nick and Danielle for restoring and maintaining this resort, creating an affordable and welcoming oasis along highway 61. I'll be back!

Great place with so much charm! I had a perfect view of Lake Superior and the sound of the waves along the shoreline were perfect for falling asleep/waking up to. The cottage was super clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities I needed for the weekend. Thank you Danielle, Nick, and Kate!
