Bell Sheep Homestead

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was a great location. It was very clean and cheerful. And we liked all the little touches that made it feel relaxing and cozy. Having a coffee pot, tea kettle, microwave, fridge, etc made it easy to make breakfast and prepare simple meals. However, this place would not be for everyone. There was no AC, just fans. We stayed in the Temperance River room. The bathroom was large enough, but the shower might be small for some people.

My husband and I stayed at Bell Sheep Homestead and had an enjoyable time. We stayed in the Temperance River Room which was decorated very nicely. There was a leather loveseat, nice bedding, table and chairs, gas fireplace, tv, hot plate and some kitchenware. The bathroom was also nicely decorated, although the fixtures were older and the shower stall is tiny! We would stay there again! My only request would be for larger bath towels. We had a private fire pit and outdoor seating area. This is a pretty and relaxing place to stay. The key was left in our room with the door unlocked, and we left the key on the table when we left. We never had contact with an owner, which has pros and cons.

Really lovely. Well-appointed. Comfortable bed, usable kitchen (knives were sharp!). It rained, so the deck furniture was wet, didn't use that. Quiet. Bikes to borrow, though we didn't use them. Location is ideal for Gooseberry Falls. I'd definitely go back, would definitely recommend.

My husband and I returned to Bell Sheep after a previous stay several years ago because of the great location. We were joined by my sister and her husband, and we spent two nights in the two-bedroom Tettagouche room. It was so comfortable. It has an amazing vintage decor but yet all appliances are modern. The room is well-stocked with anything you can imagine (my husband was happily surprised to find tea!) Every appliance is offered. The beds were comfy, the comforters warm, and the quality of the towels was amazing. Even the fans were impressive. We are usually tent campers, but this may be our new go-to in Gooseberry. 4/11/22 Found this place accidentally while looking for places along the North Shore Drive. We stayed here for 2 nights at the Temperance Room. It is really cozy and the decor inside is cute. The little fireplace was nice. In terms of location, it fit perfectly with our plans. Located very close to the Split rock lighthouse and Gooseberry Falls State Parks. We also liked that you can just go to your room without seeing anyone (and leave the same way). They had some cool dvds as well. We never got to use the fire-pit as we either arrived late, it was too cold, or was too tired from the day-hikes.
