Courtyard by Marriott Richmond West

This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. I had no choice in the matter; my son was playing in a tournament and this was the hotel selected for us. The moment you step inside, you’re hit by an unappealing atmosphere—the sign is scratched, and the overall appearance is unattractive. The lobby is outdated, with dirty carpets and a ceiling that appears to be peeling away. When we finally got to our room, it was immediately clear that it was equally dated. I was disturbed to be awoken at 2 AM by water droplets leaking from the ceiling, and even more so when we discovered that the wet carpet had dampened our feet. We informed the staff about the leak, but the front desk lady was extremely unpleasant. In the room, the pull-out bed exuded an unpleasant odor, and the mattress was filthy. We end

Just flying in from Bangkok after 3 weeks in Asia, to visit our medical student daughter at VCU for 3 days, we were quite jet-lagged. As a Titanium, our upgrade to a very spacious suite by Cor’Nelius and Thalia was greatly appreciated. They were both very nice.||Our room was a little older and the sofa slightly worn, but our room was very clean and comfortable, with a comfortable bed. Rooms have a microwave and refrigerator.||We were given a $20/day food credit.||The rate was great, and a much better value than staying downtown, which is only 5 miles away. We also got double nights credit because of Marriott’s promotion.

Rooms aren't the best, the first room we had the bathroom light did not work. When we told the front desk they moved us to a different room, and then in that room the bathroom door did not shut properly. Tub was also a little grimey. but otherwise the room was clean. the room serves its purpose, bathroom and a place to sleep. Employees are very kind, and the courtyard is nice. very convenient if you have dogs and are placed on the first floor with a door to the yard.

I've stayed here before, it was decent. But trying to schedule is a nightmare. Robot phone that doesn't understand simple prompts, and calls that drop instantly whenever you get a live person.

The hotel is superb. The location of the hotel was very convenient from I-95. There were restaurants right across the street. The hotel smelled fresh and clean when we walked in with just a hint of the chemical hotels are using during Covid to keep things disinfected reassured us that the hotel was very clean. The desk staff were wonderful, very welcoming and keeping the line of persons checking in moving at a good pace. Our room was spacious, clean, well appointed and a great layout with the king size bed against the wall of the bathroom instead of one of the walls from the rooms next door. The courtyard was very nice although we did not use it. The lobby had a nice spacious layout for sitting and reading. However, breakfast leaves a bit to be desired due to Covid restrictions like most
