Courtyard by Marriott Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port

As a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite member, I stay at Marriott properties frequently and have come to expect a consistent standard of professionalism, service, and cleanliness. Unfortunately, my recent stay at the Courtyard Marriott in Fort Lauderdale was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had — and I will not be returning. From the moment we arrived, customer service was severely lacking. Staff communication was poor, professionalism was minimal, and expectations were not clearly set at any point during our stay. We requested early check-in, but there was little communication or follow-up, leaving us waiting without updates. I would like to recognize Christina, the manager at Courtyard, for her outstanding service. From the moment I arrived, she was incredibly helpful, professional, and welcoming. She went above and beyond to ensure my check-in process was smooth and stress-free. Her positive attitude, efficiency, and genuine willingness to assist truly made a difference in my experience. It’s rare to encounter such dedicated customer service, and Christina is a true asset to the Courtyard team. Thank you for making my stay start on such a great note!

This review is not about the hotel property itself, but rather the lack of respect an employee of the hotel had regarding a customer's personal property. Therefore, I would not recommend this hotel even if the actual hotel was the best I ever stayed in. We stayed at this hotel prior to a cruise on April 18, 2025. After we had checked out and were preparing to board the cruise, I realized I had left my eyeglasses at the hotel. I contacted the hotel as soon as we were in our room and received an email from an employee stating that she had found my eyeglasses and provided me with the information on how to have them returned to me. First impression wasn’t great. When I called from the airport for the shuttle, the gentleman who answered told me to call back after getting our luggage, wouldn’t answer my question, and hung up on me. We arrived late and left early the next morning with no major issues. We stayed again after returning from our cruise, and that experience was much better thanks to Ms. Michaella at the front desk. She was incredibly kind and helpful. I wasn’t feeling well and asked about early check-in; although no rooms were available, she took my name and number and called me as soon as one was ready. She handled check-ins, phone calls, and guests all by herself, and I even witnessed a guest curse at her—she handled it with grace and professionalism. The hotel is outdated.
