Courtyard by Marriott Ames

Great hotel with incredibly comfortable bed and modern amenities. The workout room is huge and has several new machines. ||Hallways smell a little strange but it might have been the smell of food? ||I would definitely recommend this hotel. Front desk even helped us out with needing feminine products early in the morning.

This is a pleasant hotel with good rooms. Walls are thin and music/TV and conversations can be heard. The only complaint is the unreliable bar/restaurant. Checking in on Friday we were told that the server was in a car accident and they could not cover the bar/restaurant so it was closed. On Saturday it was open for Breakfast and for the evening service. On Sunday am, it was again closed, with he same reason of the server being in a car accident. It was frustrating that you could not even get a coffee or muffin from the kitchen on a Sunday morning despite being able to on Saturday. It would be great if they had additional resources or could cross train someone so that one of the advertised amenities could be available. I understand staffing issues, but the inconsistencies were frust

Positive: Great location. Negative: The room was 82 degrees. I simply could not get the temperature adjusted. I hated to open the window as it was a ground level room but it was unbearably hot - and it's November so it should have been an easy time of year to keep the room comfortable.

I really wanted to like this property. It’s in a perfect location for my business was needs. It’s new and seemingly well maintained. Great decor and ambiance. However, there were a few issues. First, on both of my visits, my mobile key did not work on my room. This is a major issue for me. I don’t like having to check in. The most recent visit, my mobile key worked on the exterior door coming into the hotel, but not on my room. ||But once I got into my room, I encountered a bigger issue. There was a strong mildewy smell. I eventually decided I couldn’t stay there. The receptionist quickly switched my room. But the second room had another off putting smell. I think it was coming from the drains as it was strongest in the restroom. It smelled kore like someone had been cooking

Super nice and modern rooms, very clean. Fitness center was extremely nice and large with lots of equipment that actually works. Staff is very friendly and deals with any issues quickly and professionally.
